Screen shot 2013-01-22 at 1.50.03 AMBy JERRY HUME – TITUSVILLE — Thousands of people will be flocking to Brevard County for a big event Jan. 23-28.

More than 5,000 people attended last year’s Space Coast Birding and Wildlife Festival.

Organizers are hoping for a big crowd once again for the 16th annual celebration.

People come from across the country, and even the world, to check out the birds that will be in Brevard County.

The festival runs Jan. 23 to Jan. 27.

People will get up close with birds, wildlife experts and even see how eagles, hawks and owls are rehabilitated, as a part of the Raptor Project.

Most of the activities and field trips will start at the Titusville campus of Brevard Community College. http://bit.ly/UmeCXd
